The irreverent rock music lexicon...
Bass Player - failed guitarist. Can get by with just two strings but prefers to have four so that it looks more difficult. Regularly heard talking about how they decided to concentrate on bass guitar after hearing Paul McCartney's inspiring bass playing on Sergeant Pepper. The real reason being the realisation that having sausage fingers could be an asset when negotiating the steel cables that pass for strings on the average bass guitar.
Backup Guitarist - The bitter, resentful person who stands to the left of the rest of the band and bitterly and resentfully plays the guitar. They loathe and despise the frontman, and most likey the rest of the band, too.
